SportsBettingChamp has officially started the 2008 baseball season. The SportsBettingChamp baseball betting system has recorded its first 2 MLB wins over the weekend and is off to a quick start. I think that this season is going to be filled with great baseball games and a lot of offence and of course the usual surprises. It is hard to believe that the Detroit Tigers are playing so poorly. And that could be a long time away. All aspects of the Tigers game play are not performing. They only have one player batting over .300 and there best ERA so far is a pitiful 6.52, ouch! I think that their last game, an 11-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs shows that something is needed to snap them out of it. And Jim Leyland getting canned might be the snap that happens if the skid continues.
Baseball betting systems need to see strength in statistics and games like the 11-0 loss point the Tigers to a continued slide. They gave up 2 grand slams, one from Kenny Rogers and the other from Zach Miner. The offence was terrible and was shut out for the 4th time this season and the 2nd time in a row. They must be crying themselves to sleep each night, because I don't know how else they could do it. It hurts to even talk about it. Expect the SportsBettingChamp to avoid the Tigers too.
Their pitching performance makes my baseball betting system cringe. The team's starters have only made it to the 8th inning twice. They are placing a lot of strain on the bullpen and this only makes it harder for the team to return to winning form.
So does no offence. To win baseball games, you need offence, which was supposed to be the strong point of their game. They have only 7 home runs and 30 RBI's over their first 12 games. You cannot win many games with those stats.

Yankees & Devil Rays in MLB Brawl....Gotta Love It!
You have to love it when the benches clear in MLB baseball. Well, it happened this afternoon when the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays got it going on. It happened in the 2nd inning of the game and resulted in 3 Yankees and 1 Devil Ray being booted from the game.
The action started when Yankee Shelley Duncan slid into Rays second baseman Akinori Iwamura with his spikes up. He was given the boot right away, but not before Devil Ray, Jonny Gomes, came flying out of right field and plowed into Duncan.
That was all it took, the benches of the Yankees and Devil Rays cleared and the players raced onto the field. In the end, after the dust settled, the Yankees also had 3rd base coach Bobby Meacham and hitting coach Kevin Long get ejected. It didn't look like any punches were actually thrown after all. Typical baseball brawl...
That's not like a good fight in the NHL. When the gloves drop and two big guys square off there are usually a few good punches landed. But in an MLB fight, you see the occasional punch and sometimes a good fight, but mostly it always seems like chaos and not a big brawl. That is what happened with the Yankees and Devil Rays today.
In the end, the Yankees lost 2-0 and the Devil Rays recorded their 9th win. Dan Wheeler got the win with Gary Glover picking up a save, while Jonathan Albaladejo of the Yankees got their 5th loss.

Sports Betting Champ On Boxing Day
I am stuffed full of turkey and ready to watch more of my NBA bets hit and win. I also want to say thanks for all of the emails and if I haven't gotten back to you yet, please be patient. I will try to answer as many emails as I can but it can be hard to keep up, so I can't get back to everyone.

Each sport has its own unique challenges and if you are betting picks outside of any system you need some knowledge of the sport and need to spend time researching. Remember, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Now this takes time, but that is why I have found and use a purchased sports betting system for each sport.
That way, I get to see the systems picks and compare them to my own. Not only does it save me time so I can spend more on my own homework AND I get good picks from each system, I also get to see if my own systems are making similar picks. If they are, I am on the right track.
Betting is easy, but winning is the tough part. But, if you stay disciplined and use a betting system for each sport, you will win more then you lose.

NBA & MLB From The BSG Blog
There are only three games in the NBA tonight and from what I see not all of them are hot games to play if you are looking for low risk, safe bets. If anything seems a bit interesting it is the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Atlanta Hawks. While neither team is that strong, it is a good match up for the Hawks. They have won the last three at home and the Timberwolves are just 1 and 9 on the road and have lost their last 3 by a combined total of 65 points. Ouch!!. Joe Johnson will need to have a stronger game then he did against the Pistons and the Hawks need to give him a bit more support then he had in that game as well.
The Miami Heat at the Portland Trail Blazers is a bit riskier. The Heat haven't seen Dwayne Wade return to the form he had before his injuries. They are just 1-6 since his return and he has not shown the consistency that is needed for the Heat to turn things around. That said, the Heat have beaten the Blazers in their last 5 meetings so they could pull it out tonight if that stat holds to form. However, the Blazers are coming off of one of their best offensive performances this year with points coming from many players including 20 plus points from both Travis Outlaw, who came in off of the bench and Brandon Roy. Both teams have pluses in this game and with the line showing Miami favored by 3, you might want to avoid this one.
